Li Yuan was a recessive omega who was well into adulthood.

Different from other omegas, her pheromones were so weak that no alphas would even notice. It is theorised that if she were to stand next to a beta, no one would be able to tell the difference.

Moreover, her body has minor problems due to her organs being underdeveloped. Although the doctor has said that there are many other omegas with similar problems like her, Li Yuan couldn’t help but feel inferior.

Perhaps that was the reason why she has not paired up with an alpha even though she was already an adult.

On the other hand, Li Yuan was glad that her underdeveloped body was the reason she never lost her senses whenever her heat came. She could even enjoy playing games at leisure during her heat cycles. Besides having no appetite and needing to take a few showers daily to cool down her body temperature, Li Yuan was no different from a beta.

For several reasons, various public institutions and agencies have agreed on letting unmarked omegas like Li Yuan go out to work on the condition of fulfilling numerous tests and observations. It took Li Yuan three years before she’d managed to find a small workshop that suited her well.

Most omegas will pair up with alphas upon turning 16. After that, they could choose either to continue with studies at a vocational school or to just stay at home. If they can tolerate strict regulations, marked omegas can still go to work. However, they would be bound by many restrictions during their heat cycles.

Li Yuan was special. Although she could only work in a small workshop and couldn’t stand for long hours due to her weak physique, she was one of the few omegas who could make large parts of mecha by herself at the age of 20.

She may not be as talented as the other omegas, but she definitely did not need a long leave before and after her heat cycles. Thus, it gave her even more time to work on building mechas.

Li Yuan sat down on the workbench and worked on putting together the small parts that were no bigger than her thumbs.

When she was finished, she rubbed at her sore eyes and stretched. Then, there was a knock at the door.

“Please come in.” As soon as she said it, a tall, fit man pushed the door open. Both of them stared at each other in surprise.

Li Yuan felt her heat suddenly coming on. Without thinking too much about it or even looking at the man, she started packing her things to go home.

The man who was still standing at the door glared at Li Yuan who was busy packing. His handsome face was flushed.

He immediately forgot his purpose, turned around and ran. Li Yuan looked back in a daze, stunned as she saw the iron door that was now falling apart.

That iron door was very valuable for isolating pheromones. I don't know if I can apply for repairs, Li Yuan thought as she reluctantly carried her bag and was about to go out to request for a leave.

Just as she took a few steps, there was an outraged roar in the distance. “How could you guys… That was an omega!”

“Pardon? Ah, are you talking about Little Li? God, if you hadn’t mentioned it, I’d almost forgotten that she is an omega…” Li Yuan heard her colleague’s tone turned from confusion to being understanding and then teasing. She peeked from behind the wall at the end of the hallway, and saw her colleague and the man. At that very moment, they both turned towards her and her colleague had a gentle expression on his face, “Darling, are you here to request for a leave?”

“Moore… Yes...” Li Yuan nodded, carefully glancing at the other man who still looked upset. He was very likely a dominant alpha since he was able to perceive her weak omega pheromones. “But I don't think it would be convenient for me to get close now.”

“Maybe you could help the Lieutenant General here to retrieve Duma’s arm parts first.” Moore smiled as he nodded, “I’ll prepare the necessary documents for you now, but doesn’t this time seem a bit sudden?”

“Okay, sure. Yes, it is very sudden.” Li Yuan felt helpless, “There isn’t much food left at home. Do you perhaps have any heat inhibitor you could give me? Oh, and could you please prepare a repair application form as well? My door was… Mm… It’s broken...”

She didn’t dare explain the whole incident when the culprit of the damaged door was right in front of her. If she did, it would have seemed that she was complaining.

“I’m very sorry.” That general abruptly said in a low voice that sounded like a rumble. “I believe that that was entirely my fault. Please allow me to take full responsibility for the door or your heat.”

Li Yuan hid her small face behind the wall, not wanting to see the teasing expression her colleague made. Then without a word, she turned around and headed back to her workshop to retrieve the mentioned mecha part.

“T-Taking re-responsibilities sounded scary! That man looked scary too!”, Li Yuan stammered in a low voice.

The more frightening thing is that Li Yuan noticed that a part of herself had changed slightly upon hearing the general’s husky voice. She found herself drawn to it as well.

As she walked around in her workshop, Li Yuan noticed something else as well. It seemed that she would have to go straight home to change her wet undies before she could go buy food and supplies in preparation for her heat cycle.

Li Yuan then went to Moore’s office to give him the mecha parts. She had originally thought that the general would have left by then. After all, most alphas do not like being disrespected in front of others and she had so rudely ignored him earlier. However, to her surprise, he was actually standing by the door like a gentleman- as if he was waiting for her.

Don’t tell me he was actually serious about taking responsibility, Li Yuan thought to herself.

Li Yuan slowed down in her footsteps and the two of them stared at each other solemnly.

The general wore an imperial military uniform. His figure was clad in the black uniform which made him look even taller. Li Yuan’s height was probably around his shoulders if she were to stand next to him. He had profound facial features and wore a firm expression. Every inch of him screamed danger and determination.

Moreover, he seemed to have fully suppressed his pheromones.

There was no sweet scent emitting from him but what surprised her even more was that there was no trace of an omega’s scent on this alpha. Alphas as attractive as him are usually always with an omega. They demanded and claimed as they pleased. Loving to brag, they would strut around with the scent of omegas’ pheromones permeating from their skin and clothings. But the general, this alpha who stood in front of her, didn’t emit any scent at all.

Li Yuan felt an increasing restlessness as desire continued to bloom in her heart.

She lowered her head in embarrassment, refusing to meet his gaze.

She was not worthy of him. Li Yuan was well aware of what kind of omega she was. She was not beautiful, had flaws and had an ordinary talent.

The general suddenly came close and put his hands on her shoulders. Shocked, Li Yuan looked up at him.

There was unabashed admiration in his eyes.

Li Yuan was indeed not as beautiful as the other omegas the general had seen, but she was pretty in her own way. Her cheeks were flushed prettily, and her eyes were big and round. When her black, bright and teary eyes looked up at him, it made his heart melt. Her petite was not exquisite, but every part he touched was so soft that he dared not use his force on her. The man couldn’t help but to gulp.

Even her shoulders are soft, he thought to himself.

Abruptly, he lost control over his pheromones’ emission and it entwined with Li Yuan’s pheromones.

His pheromones only made Li Yuan more sensitive and aroused. She couldn’t help but moan softly.

The small sound made the man swallow hard again. “Perhaps if I mark you temporarily, you’ll feel better.” The general’s low and husky voice was drawing Li Yuan in more and more. She quietly nodded.

Then, plucking up the courage to speak, she looked up at him, “I-I’m Li Yuan.” 

More and more of both Li Yuan’s and the general’s pheromones interweave together. The immediate space filled and the air was thick with their pheromones.

This was all the general could endure. Carefully but quickly, he lifted Li Yuan’s arms and wrapped them around his neck, and picked her up into his arms. She was flushed and weak from her heat that she looked nothing more than a petite doll. The general tightened his grip and had an odd expression on this face- as if he was extremely aroused and close to losing control while trying to look as calm and gentlemanly as possible. He glanced at Li Yuan, swallowed hard again, and rushed for his aircraft.
